HISTORY MADE AT CARSON PARK
Friday, July 17th, 2009 -- 5:41 am
Posted by Larry Hoeser, Sports Director

History was made last night at Carson Park. Tyler Bremer (UC Davis) pitched the first no-hitter in Eau Claire Express history as the Express defeated the Battle Creek Bombers 4-0. He struggled a bit early as he threw six straight balls to start the game. He also walked two batters in the inning, but after that he settled down. Bremer pitched the next six innings without allowing a base-runner. He hit the lead-off batter in the eighth inning, but was able to sit down the next three batters. Bremer threw 107 pitches on the night with 68 strikes and 39 balls. The no-hitter is only the second in the league this season and only the tenth in Northwoods League history. Tonight the Express will take on the Bombers in game two of the series. It will be the final game of a five day home stand. After that the Eau Claire will travel to Madison for the final two games before the
All-Star break.
