G'WOOD GET $ FOR PHY ED

A local school district is receiving a big check to help them improve their physical education program.
U.S. Rep. Ron Kind announced this week that the Greenwood School District has been selected to receive $102,833.00 in funding under the Carol M. White Physical Education Program.
The grant will be used to expand and improve K-12 physical education programs, including after-school programs, in Greenwood School District. These programs will assist K-12 students in developing an appreciation for lifelong healthy habits and helping the schools meet state standards for physical education.
