 Neillsville’s Heritage Days celebration is just around the corner, and there’s a new event this year.
The first Annual Heritage Days Dog Show will be held Saturday, June 11 in the tent downtown.
Betty Barr is organizing the event…
"People that own a dog like to look at the different breeds, look at the characteristics of the different breeds." Barr says.
But dog shows aren't just for dog owners.
"To take a look at the biggest, or smallest or best trick is going to be fun," she says.
The competition will feature three categories: smallest dog, largest dog, best dog trick, best groomed dog and best in show.
"They can be a mixed breed, they can be a dog that you don't even know what the breed is," she explains, "a lot of people are quite proud of their dog and would like to come show it off."
Barr also hopes some of the entries will be "good examples" of specific breeds.
