WAREHOUSE DAMAGED IN FIRE
Monday, June 8th, 2009 -- 3:08 pm
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

A warehouse in Loyal was badly damaged by fire Monday.

Authorities believe the blaze was electrical in nature.

The fire apparently started shortly after owner Bob Lanfeldt left the structure. Witnesses called 911, reporting smoke coming from the structure.

The building is located on North Union St.

"We saw the back-end of the gentleman's warehouse smoking. As far as we could tell, there were no occupants. Some of our folks went to help out and pull away what they could," says Matt Jorgensen, who works at nearby Vita Plus.

"It wasn't until after the fire departments responded that it evidently broke through the roof. We could see smoke and fire coming out of the roof," he adds.

Fire crews from Loyal, Spencer and Greenwood helped put out the blaze.
