SUSPECT: LEAVE THE CUFFS ON, OFFICER

A 25-year-old Neillsville man had an interesting request after he was briefly held for violating bond conditions the other night.

A Neillsville officer detained the man Sunday as he was walking in front of the Post Office.

The officer cuffed him, believing his bond specified he needed to stay in his home during the evening hours.

After checking, the officer determined the bond was too vague, and released the man. But, he didn’t want to leave. He asked if the officer could leave the cuffs on and take him home.

He said he didn’t think his girlfriend would believe his story unless she saw him get out of the police car.
