GOING GREAT LENGTHS

Some Granton teachers went to great lengths to raise money for their students Monday.

"We have Mrs. Woller, Mrs. Volenec and Mrs. Vaughan and myself." explained 4-year-old Kindergarten teacher Ron Klein. "We're walking from the lower Elementary doors to Marshfield. It's going to be about a 20-mile walk."

Klein said their playground equipment could use an upgrade. The teachers wanted to do something to help.

"When you're looking for people to pledge, obviously, you want to do something a little out of the ordinary." Klein explained, "We hoped to raise $1,500; we're currently at $2,300."

Klein says the kids were excited about the trip, but the staff partook in some good natured ribbing throughout the day.

We got an email from Ron this morning. He said it took them about 5 hours and 45 minutes… but they made it safely.
