REEL IN NEW FISH REPORT

 DNR officials are encouraging you to “get hooked” on the 2009 Wisconsin Fishing Report.
Available for free on-line, at DNR service centers and select Fleet Farm and Gander Mountain locations, the 16-page newspapers is chock full of information for anglers.
"The biggest section is the fishing forecast," explains Alisa Santiesteban with the DNR, "Biologists, each year, submit articles based on fishing surveys they did last summer."
There’s also plenty of “refrigerator material."
"We have things that you'll want to cut out in there," she notes, "We have fishing dates, we have the top family-friendly waters, there's about 50 listed, and some great fish watching opportunities."
Wildlife officials are trying to get more people fishing; especially younger folks. They’ve even started a Fish Wisconsin “Twitter” feed for the tech savvy crowd.
You can download the 2009 Wisconsin Fishing Report at the DNR’s website right now; it will be available in print form beginning April 1, which is also the first day of the fishing season.
