SHARED HIGHWAY COMMISSIONER EXPLORED

Discussions about sharing a Highway Commissioner are ongoing between Clark and Jackson County.
As we’ve reported, Jackson County’s commissioner Mike Hemp left the county at the end of 2008.
Jackson County approached Clark County with an interest in a shared Commissioner arrangement, which would be the first of its kind in the state.
The two-sides met Wednesday and agreed to move forward with the discussion.
Officials from both sides hope they can save money by sharing the position.
