COUNTY GETS FIRST SALES TAX $$

Clark County has received its first payment from the half-percent sales tax.
Finance Director Teri Domaszek says the county received a payment of $15,173. That represents a partial payment for the month of January.
Damaszek notes not all businesses pay sales tax on a monthly basis.
Despite projections that Clark County could make an additional $1.5-million through the tax, the county only budgeted to receive around $785,000 for 2009.
The half-percent sales tax went into effect on January 1.
