Supporters of a proposed agri-business park near Owen say they aren’t giving up.

The City of Owen wants to buy over 150 acres of county-owned land surrounding the Health Care Center, but the County Board shot down two land-sales resolutions at their meeting Tuesday night.

Sheila Nyberg of the Clark County Economic Development Corporation says they were confused, but not ready to give up.

She says some county board supervisors are already preparing another resolution they hope to bring to the March meeting.

Back in December, the Clark County Board of Supervisors voted 24 to 4 to support the concept.

According to past reports, supporters envision a mammoth 52,000 square-foot Innovation Center as the centerpiece of the park. They hope to partner with tech schools and the University of Wisconsin to provide a central hub for researching emerging technologies, such as biofuels, and hope that Center will lure companies to locate in the adjoining parks.
