GAS PRICES BACK TO $2

The price of gas has passed the $2 mark again.
AAA reports the average price for a gallon of regular fuel is $2.01 statewide. That's up 6 cents per gallon from a month ago, but still much less than a year ago, when the average was $3.03.
The national average is $1.97 per gallon, up 14 cents from a month ago, but down from $3.01 a year ago, AAA says.
In the Milwaukee area, the average price was $2.03 per gallon Monday.
The lowest average price for 1 of the state's metro areas is in Janesville and Beloit, where gas is $1.96 per gallon. Eau Claire has the highest average price at nearly $2.06 per gallon.
