Friday, February 6th, 2009 -- 12:15 pm Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
One of the men accused in a Thorp-area home invasion that ended with his co-intruder shot in the leg was back in court Thursday.
Joshua Kane, 22, of Stanley, is being held in Clark County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond.
Authorities say Kane and 26-year-old Cole Vetterkind, Thorp, broke into the home, pulled a sleeping couple from their bed and began beating up the man.
The man was able to escape briefly and retrieve a gun he kept near his bed. He shot Vetterkind, who was wearing make-up resembling The Joker, in the leg.
Vetterkind remains hospitalized in fair condition. He’s charged with battery, burglary, strangulation and suffocation and intimidation of a victim.
