The Clark County Sheriff’s Department says 26-year-old Cole Vetterkind and 22-year-old Joshua J. Kane broke into the Gorman Ave. home at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday. An altercation ensued and Vetterkind was shot in his “lower extremities.”

The residents, 18-year-old Alecia Swensen and 23-year-old Jason Benzschawel were home during the intrusion.

Vetterkind was airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield where he’s listed in fair condition this morning.

Kane is in the Clark County Jail on unrelated charges.

The investigation is continuing and because of the nature of the investigation, additional details are being withheld while interviews are conducted.
