It wasn't difficult for Neillsville officers to break a gas drive-off case Tuesday night.

According to police records, a clerk at Drescher BP Amoco called to report the theft.

The 29-year-old Holmen man filled up his tank with premium unleaded, came into the store, flung his drivers license at the clerk and then drove off.

Surveillance video confirmed the man was the same person listed on the driver’s license.

Police were able to contact the man, who is said to have some mental issues. Payment of the gasoline was arranged.
