With blood donations dwindling because of the holiday season, 92 local residents stepped up to the plate last week in Neillsville.

The American Red Cross blood drive was held at the Neillsville American Legion on Monday. The 92 pints of blood could help save 276 lives.

Of those giving, 21 gallons was attained by Calvin Gerhardt, 15 gallons by James Filitz, 12 gallons by David Mohr, 9 gallons by Norman Wesenberg, 3 gallons by Anna Ringler, two by Diane Opelt and one by Ruth Novak.

The next Red Cross bloodmobile visit to Neillsville will be Monday, March 16.
