FILING DEADLINE NEARS

Would-be candidates for the Spring Election have one week to submit their nomination papers.
There will be plenty of city, village, school board and town races on the ballot.
Here in Neillsville, wards 1, 2 and 5 are up for reelection. The incumbents, Chuck Glassbrenner, Steve Mabie and Daryn Horn, have filed declaration of candidacy forms, but none have brought back papers. City Clerk Rex Roehl says no one else has shown an interest in the seats.
The filing deadline is next Tuesday at 5 p.m.
