TRIAL FOR WESTON COUPLE TO BE SET
Monday, December 22nd, 2008 -- 8:55 am
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

A judge today could set the trial dates for Dale and Leilani Neumann.

They’re the Wausau-area couple who allegedly didn’t take their sick, 11-year-old daughter to the hospital, instead electing to pray for the girl, who died of complications of untreated diabetes.

Attorneys are scheduled to meet with a Marathon County judge to discuss dates for a trial.

The Neumanns requested a speedy trial, within 90 days, last week to Judge Vincent Howard. Judge Howard earlier had refused to drop the second degree reckless homicide charges.

The Neumanns say their rights of religious freedom are being violated in the case.
