MAIL ROOMS BUSY

These are busy times for letter carriers.

In fact, statistics show yesterday was the busiest mailing day of the year.

"And, of course, what that will turn into is the busiest delivery day being tomorrow," says Neillsville Postmaster Lisa Schilling

If you’re procrastinating on sending out those Christmas cards, don’t worry. You still have some time.

"Plenty of time yet," she says, "All of our mail goes to Wausau. If you're having your letter sent to (zip codes starting with) 544 or 545, it's next-day turnaround."

"Even if you sent something out on the 23rd, people in 544 or 545 would get that the next day."

Deliveries one-state-away take two days; the longest an in-country delivery should take is three days.
