Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

A Clark County farm has inked an agreement to sell electricity to a local power company.

Dairyland Power Cooperative is buying energy from the Norm-E-Lane dairy farm in the town of Chili. Clark Electric Cooperative will assist Dairyland.

The 2,000-head farm owned by the Meissner family uses an anaerobic digester to convert manure gases into power. It produces 500 kilowatts of renewable energy, that can power 336 homes.

Norm-E-Lane is the fourth dairy farm providing cow power to La Crosse-based Dairyland Power.
