A new twist in the Alisha Sidie murder case.

An investigator says a Hatfield man accused of killing his ex-wife said he shot her after she threatened to take their 2-year-old twin boys away.

Douglas Sidie faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse and multiple counts of obstructing an officer.

He reported 27-year-old Alisha Sidie missing Nov. 8, saying she walked away the previous night after they argued. She was the subject of a weeklong search before he admitted the killing and told detectives where to find the body.

In court Tuesday, an investigator said Sidie told him his ex-wife threatened to take the twin boys away if he didn't quit seeing his 8-year-old son from a previous relationship. Doug Sidie claimed Alisha threatened to “take out” the boy.

A judge decided the 39-year-old Sidie could be held without bail for at least 60 days.
