COLBY MAN DIES IN TRAIN VS. CAR ACCIDENT

A 37-year-old Colby man was killed when a train struck his minivan early this morning.
It happened in the Town of Auburndale.
Authorities say the man was in the van, which was parked on the railroad tracks.
It’s unclear why the van was parked there.
The man’s name is not being released.
The Wisconsin Central Limited train, traveling west from Auburndale, hit the occupied van near the intersection of Shady Road and Railroad Drive at 1:26 a.m.
The minivan was carried a considerable distance before coming to a rest.
