KIND "TORN" ON NEW BAILOUT BILL
Friday, October 3rd, 2008 -- 12:15 pm Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
After voting in favor of the very unpopular $700-billion bailout bill on Monday, U.S. Rep. Ron Kind (D-La Crosse) says he is torn over a new version of the bill.
The House is expected to vote Friday on the Senate’s modified version of the bill that representatives narrowly voted down Monday.
The Senate included $100 billion in new spending. Kind doesn’t like it, but thinks it might be the only way to get Republicans on board.
Meanwhile, Republican candidate Paul Stark said predictions of a credit crisis are overblown and that banks are simply restricting loans to those who can afford them.
