It appears the Clark County Fair will be the second week in August, afterall.

At a meeting a couple weeks ago, the Clark County Fair Board moved the dates of the 2009 Fair to July 29 to August 2.

It was in response to the Wisconsin State Fair moving their dates next year. The board hoped area kids could attend the State Fair in West Allis.

But, the Neillsville Menís Club, who provides the Grandstand entertainment Friday night and Sunday afternoon, caught wind of the move and said it could cause major problems for their truck pull and demo derby.

County Board Chairman Wayne Hendrickson says an emergency Fair Board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday night at 7:30 at the ADS building in Greenwood.

He expects the board will move the fair back to the traditional 2nd week in August.
