FEWER STOP LIGHTS IN MFLD?
Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008 -- 1:52 pm
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

There could be fewer stoplights on Marshfield's main street.

The Marshfield Board of Public Works voted 5-0 Tuesday to turn off the signal lights at the intersections of Kalsched Street and Central Avenue and Second Street and Central Avenue.

If the plan is approved by the full City Council next weeks, the lights will remain off for 60 days as officials decide whether to remove them.

Officials hope, by removing the lights, travel times along the city's main thoroughfare will be reduced.
