SAWMILL DESTROYED BY FIRE

Fire crews from Stratford, Edgar, Spencer, and McMillan battled a fire at a sawmill Monday afternoon.
E & I Cutstocks and Pallets is located on Big Rapids Road in the town of Cleveland just outside of Stratford.
Hot hydraulic oil apparently touched off the blaze, which spread quickly through the sawdust and lumber. The fire spread to about 30 round bails of hay as wells as several semi trailers full of saw dust.
The mill was destroyed, but a nearby house suffered only superficial damage.
No one was injured.
