CBS affiliates around the state are hoping Brett Favre's move to the New York Jets could increase ad revenue for their NFL broadcasts.

The Packers, Vikings and Bears are NFC teams. Fox Sports has the rights for NFC games.

The Jets are an AFC team. CBS gets most of their games.

"We have several New York Jets games on the schedule. I've already put in a request for the one on (Sept.) 7th, which is the New York Jets against Miami," ays Maria Roswall, program director at WKBT-TV in La Crosse.

In fact, Roswall is requesting every Jets game they can get, unless the Packers, Bears or Vikings are playing on CBS.

"Definitely, we're all going to be wanting to know how he's doing and watching him very closely," she notes.

CBS affiliates have long played 2nd fiddle to Fox stations because, in Wisconsin, the Packers are king. Roswall hopes this might level the ad revenue playing field just a bit.

"I didn't know if I should be so blatant as to mention that, but yes, this should definitely help our sales."

Barring injury, Favre is expected to start the regular season opener September 7th against the Miami Dolphins. The game is set for a noon kick-off.
