A vehicle ran into a power pole causing a major headache around Neillsville Monday.

Over 1,100 Xcel Energy customer lost power for hours.

The lights went out in Neillsville at around 9 a.m.

We were initially told by the power company that power had been restored by 11:30 a.m. Actually, only 20-percent of those customers had power as of 11:30. Power was restored to most of the city by 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon.

An Xcel spokesperson says the power line, located on West 5th Street, was a main feeder for most of Neillsville.
