Another strange twist to an already strange story.

WSAW-TV reports a Wood County Man accused of abducting and sexually assaulting two men earlier this month actually went to work while one man was chained in his basement.

Edward Lanphear worked an 8-hour shift at Newpage paper mill while a 23-year old was allegedly held against his will.

Records show Lanphear called in sick the following day.

He was arrested after another man escaped and got help.

Lanphear's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday in Wood County.
