Meanwhile, the 21-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man who escaped his family's love helped him survive the ordeal.
He was able to escape from Lanphear's garage last Tuesday and ran to a nearby home to seek help.
The man says he wants everyone to know he's doing well and is grateful for the support he has received from the community.
He says his ordeal with Lanphear will scar him for the rest of his life, but it won't change him and will make him stronger.
