MARSHFIELD WILL GET NEW POWER PLANT

Marshfield Utilities will construct a new 55-megawatt natural gas power plant.
M-U received final state approval Thursday.
The new facility comes with a $29-million price tag and will be located on the city’s southeast side near the wastewater treatment plant.
It’s unclear when the plant will begin producing electricity. The generator has been designed, but not the buildings that will house the plant.
