SHERIFF: ABDUCTION PLANNED

It appears a Wisconsin Rapids area man accused in the bizarre abduction and torture of two young men had been planning the incident.
"The circumstances certainly led us to believe this wasn't a spur of the moment decision, that there was some planning, or at least some collection of these restraining devices that had taken place prior to this occurring," explained Wood County Sheriff Thomas Reichert at a press conference Friday.
It also appears Lanphear had preinstalled "fasterers" that were used to keep his victims chained.
Authorities are still collecting evidence from the man's very normal looking Saratoga home.
They then plan an exhaustive look into Lanphear's life, including a talk with FBI profilers to determine if the man may have offended before.
"That will be sometime (in the future)."
Authorities may never have found the men had one not escaped from his chains Tuesday night.
