THORP BUSINESS GETS STATE HELP
Wednesday, March 23rd, 2005 -- 10:35 am
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

A Thorp business is one of six state specialty dairy processors that will receive some help through Grow Wisconsin Dairy Team grants.

Governor Jim Doyle announced $78,750 in grants to expand product lines, develop marketing materials and enter larger retail markets. Organic Farm Marketing in Thorp will receive a $15,000 Value Chain Development Grant.

The funds will assist with increasing retail brand presence through redesign of labels and packaging. New products will also be introduced to move toward a more discerning customer base, resulting in higher profit margins and higher return to producers.
