Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama leads Republican John McCain by 13 points in a new poll of Wisconsin voters.

Half of the respondents said they would vote for Obama if the election were held now. Thirty-seven percent would choose McCain.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Political Science/WisPolitics.com poll surveyed 506 randomly chosen likely voters by telephone from June 8-10. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5%.

Ten percent of respondents were undecided.

But both candidates were seen favorably, with 68% of respondents saying they had a favorable impression of Obama and 53% saying they had 1 of McCain.

The election will be held Nov. 4.
