MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY COMING TO COUNTY

It's that rare event that should benefit both youth and seniors.

Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers of Clark County is teaming up with the Neillsville Optimist Club to host Make a Difference Day on Saturday, June 28.

"It's a county-wide event where senior citizens will receive a wish," explains Sharon Hendrickson, program director for Interfaith.

The "wish" could be anything from weeding a flowerbed to going out for coffee.

Obviously, those that get their wish granted will benefit, but the youth fulfilling the wish should also learn a lesson.

"(The Optimist's) roll in this is to provide those youth volunteers and introduce those youth volunteers to things they can do so they know they're deserving of the benefits they receive," Hendrickson explains, "And get a look at the other side of life and people they may be able to help."

If you're over 60 and have a wish that you'd like fulfilled, or if you'd like to help, you can contact Interfaith at 743-7843.
