GRANTON NATIVE PICKS UP TEACHING AWARD

A Granton graduate now teaching in Eau Claire is one of a handful of recipients of this year's Herb Kohl Foundation Teacher Fellowship Award.

Karyn Wajda, formerly Karyn Drescher, teaches at De Long Middle School in Eau Claire. The Fellowship award recognizes Educators for their superior ability to inspire a love of learning in their students.

Wajda and her school will receive a $1,000 grant.

She graduated from Granton in 1989 and is the daughter of Charlotte Drescher and the late Robert Drescher.
