XCEL CHOPPERS TO BE IN AIR SOON

Don't be surprised if you see some low-flying helicopters in coming weeks.
Beginning May 26, Xcel Energy will begin inspecting major transmission lines in the area.
The inspections will run through July.
The flights enable Xcel Energy to conduct visual inspections of equipment for defects or loose fittings. Trouble spots that could cause power outages will be identified and repaired.
The helicopters fly within 50 feet of the lines or hover near a transmission structure if something needs a closer look.
