LONG WINTER, SHORT FUNDS

With another 6-10 inches of snow possible tonight and tomorrow, it looks like winter will get a reprieve.

It has already been a long hard winter for area street crews.

Neillsville Public Works director Dave Flynn allotted about $35,500 for snow and ice removal this year, 65-percent of that budget is already gone.

Not only will the remaining 35-percent be used during this upcoming snowstorm, but it’s also all that’s left for November and December.

If they run out of money, Flynn says the council has to determine which fund to borrow from.
