MAIL SCAM INVESTIGATED

The Clark County Sheriff's Department is warning residents of a potential scam.
Sheriff Louis Rosandich says a Town of Dewhurst resident recently received a letter from Atlantic Lottery Corporation. Along with the letter, there was a check for $5,000 that the resident was supposed to cash at a Wal-Mart Moneygram wiring facility.
Rosandich says the scam company would receive the money, but the casher wouldn't.
Moral of the story: if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
