Four Melrose-Mondoro teens face serious charges for allegedly blowing up rural mailboxes in Jackson County.

Investigators believe one teen learned how to make explosive devices from surfing the web.

Four bombs were set off Sunday, destroying three mailboxes and a traffic sign.

Two of the teens, one from Melrose and one from Mindoro, were jailed on felony charges of possession of explosives and damage to property by explosives.

The other two, one from Melrose and one from Mindoro, were released on signature bonds after being charged with misdemeanors of being party to criminal damage to property.
