National Library Week kicks off Sunday.

The Neillsville Public Library will hold a special event Monday night.

Edward Zappen Jr. of Wisconsin Rapids will be on hand to speak about one of our Founding Fathers: Thomas Jefferson.

Zappen is a judge by day and an amateur woodworker by night. He'll bring in a reconstruction of the desk Jefferson used.

"He'll be talking about Thomas Jefferson and how he made the desk," explains Library Director Jo Ann Gustavson, "And it's such a tiny thing, that it's amazing that the Declaration of Independence was (written) on this desk."

Zappen will be at the Neillsville Public Library Monday night from 6-8 p.m. If you have any questions, call the library at 743-2558.
