FAVRE: I HAVE NOTHING MORE TO GIVE

It was an emotional Brett Favre who officially announced his retirement this morning at Lambeau Field.

Favre broke down numerous times in talking about his decision to leave professional football after 17 years.

"I am honored," he said, before choking up, "As they say, all good things must come to an end."

Favre said his decision was not based on anything the Packers organization did, or didn't do; he simply had run out of desire to do the prep work for Sunday afternoon games.

He summed it up by saying he didn't have "any more to give" before thanking the fans. "There is no better place to play," Favre said of Green Bay.
