CHALET DEDICATION THURSDAY

The public is invited to attend an Open House & Dedication for the new Chalet at Bruce Mound Winter Sports Area Thursday (3/6/0 night.
"People who have visited us tell us it"s a beautiful building; there"s no question it is that," says Forestry and Parks Director Mark Heil, "The old chalet was simply too small…the new chalet has met that need."
The event Thursday night will be a celebration of a job well done by the Friends of Bruce Mound and the County, but also a "springboard" for fundraising for future improvements.
"But it"s also a motivator activity to continue to push on," Heil says, "There"s still a goal of opening additional ski slopes and installing a chairlift before (next) winter."
By the way, Heil says with all the snow we"ve had this year, Bruce Mound will likely stay open an extra few days this year. The final decision will be made later this week, but Heil expects the slopes will remain open through the Easter weekend.
The Dedication and Open House will begin at 7:00 p.m. with tours, snowboard and Ski Patrol Rescue Demonstrations and live music. The Dedication Ceremony will begin at 7:45.
