The workers at one of Neillsville's largest employers have been warned their personal information—including Social Security numbers—may have been compromised.

According to the memo obtained by Central Wisconsin Broadcasting, Regal-Beloit, parent company of Leeson Electric, says an on-line hacker apparently gained access to employee records.

The memo says security changes have been made, but the potential exists that personal information was disclosed.

Employees are directed to sign up with a credit-monitoring service Regal-Beloit has contracted with.

It is unclear if all of Regal-Beloit's employees were affected.

Calls to the company have not been returned.
