CELL PHONE CHARGES WILL GO DOWN
Friday, January 11th, 2008 -- 12:11 pm
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

Wisconsin cell phone users will soon be charged less.

The 92-cents monthly E-911 surcharge will be cut in half to 43-cents per month. This surcharge funds the state's Wireless Enhanced 911 program.

Rep. Terry Musser (R-Black River Falls) says the charge is decreasing because more people have cell phones.

The Wireless Enhanced 911, or E-911, is a program that allows emergency personnel to find the exact location of a 911 wireless caller.
