FEDERAL FUNDS TO HELP UW-M/WC

Nearly $200,000 in federal funds will help the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County upgrade their science labs.
The 2008 Appropriation Bill included $191,685 designated for renovating the labs as requested by Rep. Dave Obey, D-Wausau.
UW-M/WC received almost $400,000 two years ago for new science equipment. The new funds will now address facility needs.
Several labs haven't been updated since their construction in 1964.
Officials will meet this spring to prioritize the renovation.
