Thursday, January 3rd, 2008 -- 9:28 am Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
Prices at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville are going up.
As of January 1st, professional charges—such as visits to the doctor—increased 1%; technical charges increased 6%. For instance, a stay at the hospital will cost $840 instead of $792 a night.
Kelly Moen, Chief Financial Officer, says the increases were necessary to offset inflation. The Consumer Price Index increased 7.9%.
Memorial Medical Center budgets for a 2-percent profit, which is reserved for capital improvements.
The Memorial Medical Center board approved the increases on November 27.
The facility has a $23-million budget for 2008.
