FILING DEADLINE PASSES, BUT CANDIDATES MISSING

Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

While the filing deadline for the Spring Elections came and went Wednesday, some positions up for a vote won't have a name on the ballot.

The City of Greenwood will have a race for mayor. Current mayor Robert Moseley is not seeking reelection, but Jim Mildbrand and Jim Schecklman have come forward to seek the spot.

Mildbrand was the Ward 1 alderman. He's not seeking reelection to that post and no one else has come forward.

The Loyal School Board has two seats up for reelection. Dave Clouse is not seeking reelection to post the post representing the district south of STH 98, Joel Luttropp is running unopposed for that spot.

Jean Campbell is not seeking reelection for City of Loyal post and no one has filed to seek that spot.

And on the Greenwood School Board, incumbent Lee Volovsek, who represented the area south of USH 73, south of CTH G and Rock Creek Road is not seeking reelection. Because he didn't file non-candidacy form, the school district will accept papers until next Monday at 5 p.m.

With the exception of that Greenwood race, all the other races without a candidate will be decided by write-in votes.
