A Granton man, who allegedly skipped out on his trial on child sexual assault charges, is now facing felony bail jumping charges.

Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced the new charge against Stephen H. Kohl Tuesday.

In June, Kohl failed to appear for his jury trial on four counts of First Degree Sexual Assault of a Child. He eluded authorities all summer, but was apprehended in September in the Town of Lynn.

The new charge carries a maximum penalty of 6-years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

Meanwhile, Kohl's trial for the four charges of sexual assault is scheduled for January 15-18, 2008.
