As you're getting ready to give gifts this Christmas season, many would-be candidates in the Spring Election are hoping to receive your signatures.

December 1st marked the first day they could circulate nomination papers. The Spring Election will feature many local races. The entire Clark County Board is up for election, there are city races and and school board and school referenda as well.

We already know Marshfield will have a new mayor. Current Mayor Mike Meyers filed a declaration of non-candidacy. So far District 4 Alderman Tim Kraus and former Mayor Marvin Duerr have both taken out papers.

In the City of Neillsville, Mayor Diane Murphy has taken out papers to run for reeleciton. She may receive a challenge in April, as Greg Hahn has also taken out papers for the position.
January 2nd is the filing deadline.
