A pickup truck left a rural Chippewa County road, plunged down an embankment and rolled into an ice-covered pool, leaving the driver dead in the submerged cab.

The sheriff's office says 37-year-old John Swim of Boyd was found dead in the pickup truck that crashed in the town of Delmar.

Divers searched the pool but found no other victims.

Sheriff Jim Kowalczyk says the driver had not returned home Sunday night, and his family located the vehicle this morning. The sheriff's office got the call at 7:40 a.m.
